About Crimson Construction
My name is Shane Seale and I am the owner of Crimson Construction. I am an Alabama native, born in Birmingham, AL and raised in Shelby County. Alabama has been “Sweet Home Alabama” to me for my entire life.
I was 22 years old when I started Crimson Construction in 1999 with a single-axle dump truck. I first rented then bought a backhoe. My next purchases were a trailer and a worn-out skid steer. When the old skid steer was stolen, I bought my first new machine….a Bobcat S250!
Several months later I had the opportunity to buy a used tandem dump truck and a used loader. I traded my backhoe for the dump truck and loader. Since I didn’t have a backhoe anymore, I bought a new excavator!
I didn’t buy anything for a long time after the new excavator, because I was too busy working to pay for my construction equipment.
At this time, I installed new septic tanks and did small excavating jobs. In 2007 when the economy began to tank, my business followed with an abrupt slowdown. I went from installing 3 to 5 tanks a WEEK to installing only 3 tanks for the ENTIRE YEAR of 2007. I decided I needed to either expand or go into another business just to survive.
In 2009/2010 I started going to the “Volunteer 160 Program for Firefighters” at night. After completing the program, I had to either take off work for 3 weeks for additional training to become a paid firefighter or start classes to get my septic tank pumping license.
I had 2 days to make the biggest career decision of my life. It was a difficult decision which way to go. I loved being a firefighter, but my passion had always been Crimson Construction.
Logically it should have been an easy choice. I needed 3 additional weeks of firefighting training and I would be a fireman. Done and finished! On the other hand, I didn’t even have a pump truck for my business. I took a chance and drove to North Carolina to look at a pump truck. I decided to make an offer on the truck and therefore seal my future. The truck owner accepted the offer and so began my career in pumping!
I chose my business name for obvious reasons. Over the years, some have the suggested that I might want to change the name to better fit the business….and yet, today it is still CRIMSON CONSTRUCTION LLC.
I enjoy hunting and fishing when I’m not working. I also grow pecans and apples and raise cattle at home. When time allows, I love to travel and explore new places.
