Septic System Installation
Our professionals at Crimson Construction are experienced in installing many different types of septic systems. We will work with you or your contractor to determine the best system for your house and property.
Things to consider are number of household members, number of bathrooms, garbage disposal and other factors. With all the relevant information, a informed decision is made about your septic system.
The Basics of Septic System Installation
There are two major components for a septic system. The tank and the drain field. Then minor components that support both the tank and drain field like plumbing and perforated pipes. Inlets, outlets and baffles. Each play an important role in the proper functioning of the tank and drain field. It is important that the right parts are installed in the right way to ensure a proper functioning of the system and to have the maximum life span for your system.
Septic Tank Location
Our experienced professionals will use their expertise to help you decide on where to place your septic system. The layout of your property (including house, out building location and landscape), soil composition, your preference, local and state codes, and other determinants will guide us to the most appropriate, approved and cost effective location for the installation of your septic system.
Septic Tank Size and Type
One of the most important decision is the septic tank size. The average household with 3 bedroom and 2 baths needs a 1000 gallon tank. A tiny house/cabin, a smaller tank. A bigger castle, a larger tank. Our experienced and professional team will work with you to decide what size is appropriate for your needs.
Concrete, fiberglass, steel and plastic are some of the materials that can be used. The type of soil and the water table level on your property, your individual household habits and other factors will determine the unique needs for your septic system and installation.
Some decisions are dictated by the local health department and/or state codes. W
Drain Field Installation
Your septic tank will disperse the middle liquid (effluent) in your septic tank, through a baffle (outlet pipe) to a drain field. There are several different drain field systems, but the most common is a leach field. The dirty water is “leached” into the soil through perforated pipes. There are multiple perforated pipes buried in trenches surrounded by sand and gravel. The liquid that is leached into the soil is further “cleaned” by the soil itself, bacteria and other tiny creatures that live in the soil.
Understanding the Importance of Septic Systems
Septic systems play a pivotal role in modern households, especially in areas where city sewer connections aren't accessible. They efficiently manage and treat household wastewater, ensuring the well-being of your family and the environment. A well-installed and maintained septic system can last for decades, providing you peace of mind and safeguarding your property's value.

Local Building Codes
There are rules for septic tank systems and their installation. There are codes from the city (if applicable), county, state and some even federal guidelines. The rules/laws/codes dictate the type of system you are allowed, the materials utilized, how deep or shallow the system is, how close or far from your home, the list is extensive.
Compliance is mandatory and noncompliance can lead to costly fines and possibly a system removal and replacement.
